We are about 1 month from the September Retreat. Amazing! At this time I am finalizing room listings (roommates) and payment options. I will be giving the final room listing and count to the hotel this week. Yikes! So this is what I need (if I don't already have it): Room occupancy number, and names of roommates. If you are a consultant or work for a scrapbooking related company I would love to know at this time too. Also the city you live in is very helpful for distance traveled prizes, etc Our new venue has lots more room so we are still taking reservations but for full payment only!

These aren't my normal long technique classes... they are Mini Workshops that are an hour to an hour and a half long. These workshops are all pre-paid and when you get to the event I will have your kits all ready to go with your names on them!

Friday night I'll be teaching this "Itty Bitty Distrezzed Desk Calendar" workshop for only $10! And... since the dates aren't filled in you can start the calendar with October if you don't want to wait until January to use it. We will be Distrezzing, Smooch Spritzin' & binding the book with the Bind-it-all.

I’ve already added the [Desert Scrappers Weekend Retreat] dates to my website and I’ll have the samples done in a couple days (I have to finish up a few other projects that are on a tight deadline). I am going to try to get to the hotel early on Friday to get everything set up and settled in. I would like to teach the classes as Jen listed below and if you can squeeze me in somewhere, a small crop space would be nice. I will more than likely be too busy gabbing with everyone to scrap but you never know… I might be inspired and actually get some work done… LOL.

Scrap Yourself Pink in September

Scrap Yourself Pink....a 12hour crop to benefit the Inland Empire Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will take place on Saturday, September 18th during the Desert Scrapper's Retreat. As participants of the full weekend you will all have an oppurtunity to join in on all the fun and games of the 12hour crop for no additional fee.

OUR NEW VENUE is the RENAISSANCE hotel in PALM SPRINGS!!

I am going to post mostly pictures since I think they speak for themselves... most information to come when I am not too tired from signing contracts, lol.


How the two queen bed rooms look... I am so excited TWO QUEEN bed not 2 doubles.

On the right.. Leia stands in the almost 6300 sq ft scrap room. No hot spot!!



One of the $4 appetizers served from 5- 7pm each night during happy hour. Any draft beer is only $3 at this time too.

retreat sept09Well Ladies, we survived a 4.9 Earthquake, bumps, scrapes and new hotel management!
Sadly, after meeting with the Embassy Suites we will no longer be using that venue for our Retreats. But I am excited to say that I have now looked at dozens and I do mean dozens of desert properties and have narrowed it down to 2 fabulous places in the Palm Springs area. I am currently, waiting to get a final table count so we will NEVER have table issues again.
I am a big fan of resolving problems while moving forward and showing the solutions in place. That being said I want to offer everyone who attended the June Retreat a discount on September's Retreat: if you were part of a group, you may still get the same group rate in September even if the group organizer doesn't attend. All other attendees will automatically get the early bird rate as long as they book 30 days in advance. **For those who did not attend in June hurry up and register! I haven't had a chance to up-date the prices from early bird rates. Remember $50 deposit per person locks in your rate.

It's Not Just About Cropping

This past weekend I went to Desert Scrappers Retreats and took my family along. Most times I do take my family with me. I sign up for the single room rate with Desert Scrappers and I get to scrap while my family relaxes by the pool. It's a really affordable weekend getaway for us all! And then at night for dinner and at breakfast, I get to hang with the family ;) Here's a few of the fun pics from my family hanging at the pool while I got 24 layouts done!

Thursday Add-ons...

I am so excited to share that Thursday add-ons will be able to start scrapping early evening. I am going to say 5pm for now but call my cell: 760-791-6304 if you want to get in earlier, it might just be possible.

My plan for the day: Go to Leia's Kindergarten Graduation, go home pack the cars, pick up Leia from school & head over to the hotel and start setting up. YEAH!!
