Smile 6X6 Mini Album - Prima Endorsed Class $20 - 2pm
This is a chipboard album using Prima's "Makes Me Happy" line of paper, chipboard letters, flowers and brads. We will be using acrylic paint to add color to the pages, as well as 3X4 acrylic tabbed pages to add interest and a bit of interactivity to the album! We will sprinkle some "happy" quotes throughout the book to remind you all to SMILE - be happy :)

My Peeps 6X6 Mini Album - Glitz Designs $20 - 7:30pm
(you can see the Diva Days version in a previous post below).
This cute, pink album says "My Peeps" on it, but you can title it anything want with the full package of Glitz Designs cardstock alpha stickers! You also get these cute bird rub-ons, glitter ribbon, white Prima flowers and the appropriate bling! We will using some paper folding techniques to create unique pages and hidden photo/journaling spots. Check out the edgy pink paper we will be using from the Audrey collection from Glitz Designs. We are going to play with some of their rub-on rollers too :)

Classes & Goodies from Jennifer Priest of Scrapbook Royalty

Hi there! It's Jennifer Priest from Scrapbook Royalty. I'll be staying the weekend at Desert Scrappers Retreats in May, teaching two classes as well as selling "royal" wares to benefit charity! I cannot wait!



Right now Scrapbook Royalty has partnered with Fiskateers to collect canned food for the homeless and those in need. We always do a raffle to benefit charity at Laura's retreats (thanks Laura!) so this time I am offering one raffle ticket for every 3 cans or boxes of nonperishable food you bring to me at the retreat to donate. If you bring 10 cans, you'll receive a goodie bag! For example, bring 20 cans of food and get 6 raffle tickets and two goodie bags.

We'll also be selling raffle tickets in the traditional sense: $2 per ticket or 20 tickets for $20. The proceeds from the two raffles I am doing will be split equally between Scrapbook Royalty and the American Diabetes Association. Diabetes is a disease that has affected nearly every member of my family. Scrapbook Royalty has yet to help a charity regarding this disease so this is our opportunity to make a difference for yet another worthy cause.

Card Class

We'll be making 12 all occasion cards (including envelopes) in this class - These cards have titles, die cuts and 3D embellishments ...to check them out (we WILL NOT be making the cards that are highlighted in my project center-I have redesigned them-but the ingredients are the same) see my project center at my website www.mycmsite.com/kcompton

I have room for 12 scrappers. You'll need adhesive of your choice, personal trimmer, and a black scrapbooking pen for class.

Short Update

The baby is still not here. I am convinced that he is waiting for my mom to arrive. Luckily she arrives tomorrow so hopefully soon! I am so tired of being pregnant and excited to be able to start assembling goodies bags for the almost sold out May 29-31st Desert Scrappers Retreat.

Please remember you do NOT have to be registered for the Retreat to be able to take classes or shop the vendors.

I do ask that you let me know that you are coming to shop and/or pre-register for the classes so the teachers can be sure to make enough kits for everyone.

The Reasons I Love You Class....

Hello Desert Weekend Scrappers....My name is Stephanie Ackerman & I am super excited to tell you that I have just signed on to come teach at the May event in Palm Desert!

I will be teaching the same class at two different times so that everyone will have the opportunity to create a super little mini book called "The Reasons I Love You"

Each kit will include a chipboard layered page book and the materials to create this interactive book with plenty of room to add photos, journaling and little pockets to hold additional thoughts, memories and photos. The first class will start at 4:00pm on Friday afternoon...right before happy hour...and the second class is for us early birds...at 8:00 am on Saturday morning! Nothing like kicking off the day with a little creative excersizing!

Baby Update

So you may have noticed that the baby count down on the right hand side has skipped a few days. Here is why:

I went to the doctors last Thursday and I am dilated. She said she could stretch me to 4... it is going to be sooner than later. We scheduled a May 1st induction. This is to be the latest I will deliver. Doctor also had me do a ultrasound with the high risk tech on Saturday. Even though she isn't suppose to tell us anything unless it's go straight to labor and delivery. But she did since Jason offered to fix her home PC. In fact she gave us the deluxe treatment. So I know lots... baby already weights 6lbs 14oz, placenta is ripe and close to ready. Head is in position. She has been doing these kinds of ultrasounds for 30+ years and her guess is the baby is coming this week or maybe in 10 days. She said there is no way I am making to the May 1st induction date. Oh! baby has long legs.. surprise, surprise! With Jason as the daddy.
The contractions I have been having have been doing lots since 2 weeks before I wasn't even all the way at 1.

These are the Days - Perpetual Calendar Class

Hi there!  My name is Dawn, and I am so excited to be teaching at the upcoming May Retreat.  Here is a little info about me:

I have been scrapbooking for over 10 years, and love sharing my craft with others.  I have served on design teams and have been teaching at local stores in San Diego.  I am a photo taking, scrapbook making, cookie decorating, craft-a-holic that has one big paper obsession.  I can typically be found elbows deep in paper, glue and cookie dough (hopefully not at the same time).  The last decade has been an exploration of all facets of crafty goodness for me - stamping, scrapbooking, cardmaking, knitting, crocheting, baking... if it’s crafty and messy, I love it!  I am so excited to share my passion with you!

The class that I will be teaching is this wooden perpetual calendar!  It is super fun, and pretty simple to put together - and makes a wonderful addition to your desk or as a fabulous gift that keeps on giving (especially teachers - think end of school year thank you’s)!  I was fortunate enough to have one of my calendars published in the May issue of Home & Heart magazine!
