We will need EVERY MINUTE to set up for you. So please do not enter Salons 2-4 banquet rooms until the doors are open. Please don't sit where goodies bags or scrapbook supplies are. We ask that everyone try to be respectful of others around you. We really want this retreat to be GREAT for everyone!
Hotel room check-in is through the front desk in the lobby. Just let them know you are with Desert Scrappers. You may check into your hotel room at anytime, the hotel does its best to make sure rooms are ready before the usual check-in time but please be aware there may be a time that you have to wait for your room to be completely made up and ready for check-in.

Home is Wherever your Heart Is $25

About Stephanie Ackerman:
A self proclaimed "Simply Complicated" girl....I love the simple things & most of the time complicate them in a good way. I am an ordinary girl living an extraordinary life where I get to do what I love for a living.
I am a regular girl who love's GOD, my family, friends, neighbors, kids' school & the teachers who teach there & the volunteers who volunteer there. I am a simple girl. I LOVE paper, batter, fabric, dough (as in cookie dough) & paint, A LOT... probably more than the average person. When someone asks me how long I have been "creating", I explain that I started at birth. My first project was when the nurses stamped my tiny baby foot in ink and stamped it on something official. At any given moment I might be praying, doodling, running, baking chocolate chip cookies, watching my boys skate, surf, boogie board, play soccer, baseball, helping with homework, doing laundry, coordinating fabrics with paper, re-tying Ben's shoes, doing more laundry, REALLY loving paper, sitting at the skate park, volunteering at the kids school, try to pretend like I am organizing my piles, turning trash into treasures, sewing. I love being a mom, wife, neighbor, sister, daughter & I love paper (did I mention that?) I am a regular ol' suzy homemaker & just about 2 years ago, I married the boy that I fell head over heels in love with when I was 15! I am SIMPLY COMPLICATED and I am...happy.

These are the Days - Perpetual Calendar Class $20

About Dawn Tumelty:
I have been scrapbooking for over 10 years, and love sharing my craft with others. I have served on design teams and have been teaching at local stores in San Diego. I am a photo taking, scrapbook making, cookie decorating, craft-a-holic that has one big paper obsession. I can typically be found elbows deep in paper, glue and cookie dough (hopefully not at the same time). The last decade has been an exploration of all facets of crafty goodness for me - stamping, scrapbooking, cardmaking, knitting, crocheting, baking... if it's crafty and messy, I love it! I am so excited to share my passion with you!

About This Class:
This wooden perpetual calendar! It is super fun, and pretty simple to put together - and makes a wonderful addition to your desk or as a fabulous gift that keeps on giving (especially teachers - think end of school year thank you's)! I was fortunate enough to have one of my calendars published in the May issue of Home & Heart magazine! My kits come with full color instructions, and paper pre-cut and embellishments - all ready to assemble. This calendar features the beautiful and versatile Daily Grind collection from Fancy Pants Designs! As a bonus, there will be some great Fancy Pants giveaways.

FAQ's
Time to answer those all important questions.

Food:

The hotel will be providing a Made-to-Order Breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings and Evening cold beverages and snack service. Saturday's lunch is catered by the Embassy Suites. If you would like to pack snacks and bring drinks other than the water and ice tea that I will have for you, you may do so! Don't forget there is a mini fridge and microwave in each guest room.

Music:
When it comes to music everyone has a different taste. Please feel free to bring your own Ipods or CD players to play but please always use headphones. The room is open so please be considerate of your fellow scrappers.

Be your own DJ:
As a charity fund raiser you may play
XM radio Cds or ipods that are hooked to the Desert Scrappers player. Music may be purchased in 30 min. blocks for an additional $5 fee.

Seating Arrangements:
You may sit where ever you desire! It is a first come first serve. With the exception of large groups who have requested reserve seating in advance. Please only sit where there is no goodies bag or scrap items. Each guest will still have six feet of table space. I ask that you be considerate of others when taking up space. Please also note that we no longer have a quiet scrappers area. But it is possible that a few focused scrappers may have request to be on the far right handside of the room. The tables and chairs are arranged differently so please be considerate of these ladies who want to get lots & lots done over the weekend. Thank you!

Scrapping Times:
You may set up on Friday at Noon (or 9am if you have paid for the add-on thursday package) and scrap all day and all night until 6pm on Sunday. You may leave your supplies up all weekend. Leaving your belongings out will be at your discretion. I have never had a problem in the past but, Desert Scrappers is not responsible for lost or stolen items. I do shut the doors each evening so no one may look into the area. The hotel has offer to allow the last person each night to lock up and the first person each morning to open the room since there will be no additional security. This is still on the honor system and no ID's will be checked

Swap Box:
We will have a box available to you to drop off things you no longer want and take items that someone else no longer wants that looks like treasure to you! This program works on the honor system. All items left at the end of the weekend will be donated to The Miriam House a local center for underprivileged pregnant women. They will use the items to make albums for their new arrivals. Any items that the Miriam House may not be able to use will be donated to local schools. As always we love additional donations especially for this and other worthy causes. Just please mark your item so they go to the correct charity group. Thank you!

Vendors & Classes:
We will have an opportunity to see all the latest and greatest products and shop all weekend long!

Vendor List:

Croppin' Cutie Scrapcans in both the mama and baby size will be making an appearance too.

Visit our blog for pictures and special offers from the teachers and vendors. You will received a program with an itinerary detailing the list of all our class times and descriptions when you arrive at the retreat. No need to print this.

Pack comfy clothes
and layers to wear due to the banquet room temperature variations. Evenings seem to be cool in the scrapbook room so you might want to bring a sweater or jacket.
